Ise Lyfe Visiting OSMO Next Wednesday, March 14th!!!
OSMO Project Updates Due By Monday March 26th
Oakland Science and Math Outreach (OSMO) is a community-based after school program based out of the Boys and Girls Club of Oakland, CA.
WHAT IS OSMO? CAN MY SON OR DAUGHTER PARTICIPATE?
In 2009, with the support of the La Pena Cultural Center in Berkeley and teachers at Oakland Technical High School, OSMO started as a Saturday tutoring and mentoring program for Oakland and Berkeley high school students. La Pena is intended for art, dance and cultural purposes, so OSMO was there only provisionally. After all, its hard to do real math and science work with the sensuous thump of Rumba and Bomba beats banging in the adjacent room! In 2010, OSMO relocated to the Boys and Girls Club of Oakland (BGC). With the support of director of BGC Chris Logwood, OSMO is now one of the core educational programs offered at the club. We are open to all Oakland public high school students.
